Updates

First off, I just thought I would mention that Episodes 17 thru 20 of The Phoenix Imperative have all been screenshot.  I will be editing them later on tonight, then I will start posting them, if not tonight, then tomorrow morning.  So hang in there just a bit longer folks :)

Speaking of episodes, I have finished roughing out the episodes for the rest of the first chapter, "Rude Awakenings".  My best estimate on how many episodes there will be for "Rude Awakenings" in total is between 40 and 50.  The rough outlines total about 20 more episodes, but with the possibility of having to split some of them, and my habit of making new episodes on the fly, it is quite possible the entire chapter could reach about 50 episodes.  That seems to be about the norm for a story run, judging by the works of my fellow Nexus comic producers lately.

With "Rude Awakenings" roughed out, I have started working on chapter two "Restoration's Foundation".  Currently, I am working on the story outline for the chapter, and once I have that completed, I will begin with the rough outlines for the episodes.

I have no idea at this time how many episodes chapter two will be made up of.  There are quite a number of things I wish to establish with the second chapter, including the introduction of new characters, the start and completion of some of the side quests in Fallout 3, as well as the introduction of the Main Quest from the game.  I decided early on that the main plot would play an important part in my story, but would not be played out exactly as it was in the game.  I need to keep all of you folks guessing as to whether or not you know what will be happening next were that story element is going ;)

While I am working on the rough outlines, I will be continuing to work on the scripts for chapter one.  As it is, I manage to pick away at the scripts whenever I have the time to do so.  I consider having one episode scripted (except for the animation/pose choices) a day a big accomplishment.

Oh, and before I forget, I thought I would inform you of another new guest star in the comic.  His name is Stryder, and he is the creation of fellow Nexus member and comic creator deshaz.  Most of us that know Stryder only know him as "101", but up until now, no one was told what it was.  My friend vancleef (Nexus) was supposed to reveal Stryder's name in his own comic by now, but his gaming computer has been giving him some problems as of late, so no new comics or revelations from him anytime soon :(

I have previously posted links to vancleef's comics, but I think it is time I updated those links, as he completed the story arc of his last comic and started another since then.  I will also provide links to deshaz's works as well as a couple other Nexus comic creators.  I hope to have these links published shortly after getting Episodes 17 thru 20 posted here.

Links to Somewhere

Alright folks, I finally changed all the episode links here on the blog and on my thread on the VGU Network.  They all connect to DeviantArt, and appear to be working the way they should.  Please let me know if you find any broken links.  Feel free to ignore my previous instructions regarding "appropriate viewing resolutions", as they are no longer valid, and I am to lazy to go back and edit them out  XP

Links to No Where

So, apparently, the entire Mega series of sites has been shut down, including MegaUpload and MegaPix.  What this means for us here in Comicville is that all the posted links for my images and episodes now go no where.  Given the fact that it is almost time for me head off to Never Never Land, I will redo the links over the weekend.  Thankfully, I don't have to re-upload all the disconnected content, as all the episodes for The Phoenix Imperative are already on Deviant Art, and that is to where the links will now lead.

On the bright side, no more choosing the correct resolution to read the comic with :)

Finally, a New Episode!

Ok, I have one new episode for you folks.  Hopefully I can stay away from New Vegas and the Lonesome Road long enough to produce a few more soon...

Episode Twelve: The Ghosts of Megaton

11.11.11

No, the title is most definitely NOT in reference to Skyrim!!!

It is in reference to the fact that November 11th is Remembrance Day here in Canada, and Veteran's Day in the US.  This year I wanted to do something to commemorate it, and all the Skyrim crap just helped me along.  No, I am not pissed off at the game, just the poor choice in timing for its release on Bethesda's part.  It is a gimmick, and a badly timed one me thinks.

Okay, enough about that, moving on.

My original idea for a screen shot involved quite a number of characters, most of which, although you may be familiar with them, have not yet appeared in The Phoenix Imperative.  I really didn't see the point of including characters that might confuse people, not to mention be more of a spoiler than I intended.  So, I went with something much simpler, and more personal to the people involved.

You will see only three characters here in FO3's version of Arlington National Cemetery, Cameron, vancleef's Silas Caine, and Yorak, the game personality of vancleef's younger brother.  I remember learning earlier this year, on Memorial Day in the US, that vancleef and Yorak had lost a grandfather to WW2.  I have an uncle that survived being in the infantry during that time, and he still suffers from the horrors he witnessed over there.  The three of us are the only ones I know on the Nexus that have been personally touched by war in some degree, so I thought this attempt at honouring today would be best.  I hope you do to.

Included after the image is the original text from the posting on the Nexus.  I will link the image here with the Nexus posting, for anyone that cares to comment there, and show your support by endorsing it if you can.

In my time here as a member of the Nexus community, I have had the good fortune to meet many good people.  Some of these folks have been personally touched by war.  My good friend vancleef and his younger brother Yorak lost a grandfather to the WW2.  Another gentleman was a veteran of, if memory serves me correctly, the Iraq war.  He lost a good friend and squad mate to enemy fire...right before his eyes.  I have an uncle that was in the infantry during WW2, and to this day, he still, on occasion, wakes up screaming from nightmares about what he saw and did.
It is for these people and many others that have had their lives touched by war that I post this image.  I want them to know that the sacrifices of their friends, family and loved ones are not forgotten.  If nothing else, I hope this image makes everyone that sees it stop and think...and remember.

On the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month, when the last bell tolls, please take the time to honour our heroes, both past and present.

War...war never changes...
But maybe we can...
