New Episodes!

Alrighty then people!  I have four new episodes for you to read!  I hope you enjoy them.

Episode Five: What's That Noise?

Episode Six: Forced Entry

Episode Seven: Fire in the Hole!

Episode Eight: Down the Hatch

I don't know why, but Episode Eight somehow got uploaded before Episode Five, so if you use the "Next" button to flip through the episodes, you will actually have to back peddle to get to Eight.   Grrr...

  1. Again I just want to say you're doing a great job with these. The new computer seems to be serving you well. Just don't try to rush things when you're tired and you'll be fine!

  3. Sorry -- I've been slacking again. Read these the other day, but got sidetracked and forgot to comment.

Still looking good, though I'll have to confess I didn't notice that big a change in image quality from the previous ones; though that could be my monitor, or JPEG conversion side effects or anything.

  4. I figured you would get around to reading them eventually, so no need to apologize, but thanks none the less.

The change in image quality isn't really all that noticeable on my monitor either, but some readers have commented on another increase in quality. I myself find the biggest improvement with the fact that I can now leave the image settings on high, and not worry about crashes. It makes a big difference in my game play I will tell you. The VATS mode is even working correctly for me for the first time ever. I used to get a blacked out screen with just the highlighted figure. It was damned annoying.

Another change for the better, as far as the comic goes, is now I am able to use the Combat Assistant properly. Before the upgrade, the targeting HUD wouldn't show up at all. Now I can use it to properly show the point of view of characters wearing power armour or just how Cameron herself sees things.

  5. Sounds like you had some graphical driver issues, before.

Good that you got it sorted, though.

I actually looked over the combat assistant the other day... well, the FNV version, at least. Seemed a little "busy" for my taste. Kind of distracting, and looked like it would occlude quite a bit of the screen.

  6. It can clutter up the screen at times. The more targets it can read, the more it will track and obscure your view. I do find it handy for tracking targets that are out of sight though, like wandering through the Yao-Gui caves or Deathclaw tunnels. If I set it to one of the regular hot keys (1 - 8), then I can toggle it on and off as needed. I wanted it mostly just for use in The Phoenix Imperative though.

  7. Well yeah, if you're trying to replicate the view of someone who's artificial or at least has enhanced vision, it would be great. Much easier than trying to use an image editor to add some after the fact.

  8. Agreed, especially since my skill with the editors, at the moment, is restricted to speech/thought bubbles and entering misspelled text >.<
